RNA: ribonucleic acid

Successive linkage of ribonucleoside monophosphates forms a linear polymer called RNA. In contrast to DNA, RNA is formed by a single strand. This adopts different structures depending on its nucleoside sequence (or base sequence). Here we will see just an example, the transfer RNA, or tRNA.

The fictitious line joining phosphorus atoms (backbone) allows us to observe how the chain folds.
