Highlighting regions in Jmol

A teaching tool: focus the attention onto interesting parts of the molecule.

Ways to highlight:

• Colour
• Style / rendering
• Thickness or size
• Hide parts
  • hide add xxx
  • display add xxx
• Move focusing on the region: centre and zoom-in (get closer)
  • Use the mouse: then click on the atom
  • storing the position for later use
    • show moveTo ; select the result and copy it
    • ( show orientation ) it's more complex
